Melinda, Veronica, and Peggy, Maine court reporters, have nearly 100 years of combined experience serving the legal community of Maine and New England. They also have experience working in both state and federal court systems.

Melinda Gay Simon MVP Litigation

Melinda Gay Simon graduated from the Stenotype Institute of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, a nationally renowned court reporter training school.  Upon graduation in 1985, Melinda moved back to her home state of Maine and affiliated herself with Pieske Reporting Service, where she remained for 33 years before forming and transitioning to MVP Litigation Services, LLC with two long-term partners.  

Melinda enjoys traveling the state as a freelance court reporter covering depositions, medical review panels, arbitrations, probate court proceedings, Examinations Under Oath, and various other meetings and hearings.  Melinda takes pride in providing friendly, expeditious and excellent service.  Melinda is a member of the Maine Court Reporters Association and the National Court Reporters Association.   

In her free time, Melinda enjoys spending time with family at their cottage on China Lake, traveling, boating and gardening.  Melinda lives in West Gardiner with her husband.  They have two adult children and one grandchild.

Veronica Morrill, RMR, MVP Litigation

Upon graduating from Husson College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Veronica embarked on her court reporting career in Boston, Dallas, and Washington, D.C., before returning to her home state of Maine. Veronica joined MVP Litigation Services, LLC , formerly known as Pieske Reporting Service, in 1998. She has enjoyed a wide breadth of reporting assignments in the legal field including malpractice, patent, personal injury, wrongful death, and family law. Veronica has also provided extensive reporting services beyond the legal arena; providing CART services for the hearing impaired, capturing the spoken memoirs of a well-known Fortune 100 executive for his autobiography, and traveling across the nation with a national veterans group as their Conference Reporter. She is currently the President of the Maine Court Reporters Association and has held an officer position on the Executive Board continuously since 2000. At the national level, Veronica has been an active member of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) since 1987. She holds both the NCRA Registered Professional Reporter and the prestigious Registered Merit Reporter certifications . Veronica currently resides in her home town of Auburn, Maine.

She enjoys spending time at her camp on Graham Lake with her husband and their two children.

Peggy J. Stockford, MVP Litigation

In 1981, Peggy graduated from Brown Mackie College located in Salina, Kansas, with an associate’s degree in court reporting. After considering various employment opportunities, she chose Maine and became employed by the State of Maine Judicial Branch, gaining experience working in the Superior Court on a wide variety of cases and hearings as an official reporter. In 1985, Peggy became affiliated with Pieske Reporting Service. Since 1985 she has worked in Maine and Texas freelancing; returned to the State of Maine Judicial Branch for a 10-year period where she worked on numerous high-profile cases, both criminal and civil, and then returned to freelancing in 2009, where she has remained. Peggy specializes in medical malpractice litigation, including depositions and panel hearings.

Peggy resides in Mt. Vernon with her husband and son, who is currently attending Maine Maritime Academy. She enjoys spending time with family, amateur photography, snowshoeing, swimming, and doing woodworking with her husband.

Julia Varney, Director of operations and client relations

Julia graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and minor in Psychology. Julia was awarded the Public Health Capstone Award for her thesis, Reducing Opioid Use & Incarceration Rates through Drug Court Expansion in New Hampshire and also received the Public Health Baccalaureate Award. Upon graduating, Julia spent her summer salmon trolling in Sitka, Alaska with her uncle on a 36-foot boat.

Julia began her career with MVP Litigation Services in March of 2019, pursuing her interest in working in the litigation profession. She previously worked as a Customer Service Representative at Anthem BCBS.

Julia currently resides in Augusta, close to her hometown of Readfield. She enjoys hiking, live music and playing tennis recreationally in her spare time.
